How about the arrests of unmarried couples in Madh island by the ‘Moral police’, or the brutal assault on students by Delhi Police on students protesting Rohit Vemula’s death? These are hard facts not just any SOFT ‘liberal’ points of view. If we ignore these facts, we are choosing either to be blind or may be a fatal combination of deaf, dumb and mute as well, a far more disquieting choice than the one between the left and the right.
In the past as well yes there have been grave intolerances in INDIA under different rules in different states. Intolerance towards die hard CRITICAL ISSUES-be it women’s safety oh as it is most of our political leaders have across party lines failed to speak against rapes, or to give rather the much needed support to its survivors, or be it freedom of expression as to which temple a female would enter will also be decided by the religious goons if we all the creatures of GOD then why our fertile productive period THE MENSTURAL CYCLE which is far more biological be considered as dirty and filthy and not auspicious enough to enter a temple or any religious place, let’s not forget that( ARUNDHATI ROY) was charged for sedition six years ago, or those threats and law suits forced( M.F HUSSAIN), to go to exile in 2006 never to return alive, but because we have committed and succumbed to errors , grievous errors in the past does that mean, should we now condone our mistakes in the present, or may be even worse consider them to be somehow justified? Without a question the mass murders of SIKHS IN THE YEAR 1984 much known as( INDIRA GANDHI KAND OR INCIDENT), or the ethnic cleansing of( Kashmiri pundits) IN THE 1990’S, WILL PAGEMARK AS two of the most shameful and heinous episodes in INDIAN history.
