From here on the Rewa takes a sure and definite turn towards a little religious aspect and enlightening the hearts and souls of every Indian who although call her Ma Nermada with folded hands offer prayer singing a ritual hymn of sandhya arti but polluting her with every possible garbage as they call it pujan samagri or discarded stuff left after puja at their houses or nearby Mandirs but not even thinking all the toxic chemicals of those agarbattis or incense sticks, camphor’s will poison the water disturbing the ecological balance of aquatic flora and fauna of that particular place now it reaches again a beautiful site called Jamtara with a huge overhead bridge through which a narrow gauge train the Satpura Express runs connecting all the near and far off towns and villages the moving through breath taking landscapes amongst all the simple headed rustic people discussing all the mundane topics or may be mundane to me but for them it’s their life line as I have travelled two stations with them and gasped for fresh air when I got down.
This place is affectionately called as Dhuandhar meaning smoky stream because one could feel the misty smoky, foggy wetness on your face and body when visualized very closely that churning water the ear deafening sound so overwhelming that could very well take you to an altogether another world and just make you realize at least for once for what life is worth living for when there’s so much so to give that fullness and meaning to life then why striving for all the other futilities of life and waste the precious time and energy, but my heart aches when I visualize the gradual destruction that has been going on and already being done to this natural beauty never to come back again. The marble rocks have also attained a tinted blackish grey hue due to pollution, all the constructions, the unnecessary litter caused by ignorant people may it be pouches of that omnipresent nuisance the guthka or the flavored chewing tobacco, the wrappers of munchies and other non-degradable debris, I wonder then where the regard and respect of people gone now, anyways Rewa doesn’t take all this into account and she washes off relentlessly whatever comes on her way if and when she becomes outrageous that may be her way of being revengeful and even teach a lesson but then who cares the same cycle repeats itself incessantly but she’s godly and thus these playful things are not much of an any importance to her and she flows down whistling and murmuring a tune of enriching & empowering life of her own and giving and enriching the places from wherever she passes off blessing all with her gift of love and empathy without discriminating anything passing through Gotegaon, Narsingpur then reaching Hosangabad, Maheshwar, Mandleshwar through the entire Malwa region and sublimate into the ultimate and conjugates and falling freely to render all her tiredness and hectic scheduled flow narrating her story of joy, success and sorrow when this mighty awestruck river who emerged from such a miniscule and rendered such might enriching powers and ultimately releasing and relieving her free in the arms of her ultimate destiny the Arabian Sea, to restart a never ending new journey again for the infinite years to come.
