Pilates is a body conditioning workout regime that strengthens the leg, abdominal muscles, arms, hips and back in short the entire support system of our body. It emphasises on spinal and pelvic alignment and breathing to relieve stress allowing adequate oxygen supply to different body parts, to muscles developing a strong core thus improving coordination and balance.

Intensity can be increased over a period of time and as per the body conditions, no muscle group is under or over-trained and breathing properly is very crucial in pilates method.
Over seven levels 32 exercises are done in 200 movements, but may vary from person to person and their physical conditions respectively. The first and foremost before this or any other workout is Body Alignment.
If its incorrect the individual may have backbone pain. A person should be free from stress before doing any form of workout and even pilates or will suffer from injuries, pain and aches and sprains, in pilates especially in waist, backbone and hip region.
Proper posture will ensure distribution of weight properly from feet through ankle joints to the entire body. Advised to be done barefoot for proper alignment of the body and weight distribution, as soles of the shoes can affect proper alignment of the body.
