Many Celtic fans would drool if Lawwell pulls off signing of Japan international: View

Celtic loanee Oliver Burke has been somewhat of a revelation to the team this season. Scoring four goals so far, there is no doubt that he has gone down a storm with the fans.

However, as they say, all good things must come to an end, and that is likely to happen when Burke’s loan spell finishes in the summer and he has to return to West Brom.

Timothy Weah is likely to go back to Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season too, and this will be a time when the Hoops really need to scour the market in search of a player who can fill the void that the duo will leave behind.

That player is Ritsu Doan, who currently plays for Dutch outfit Groningen. He may have only scored four goals this season, but the impact he makes is undeniable. The Japan international had Newcastle interested in January [Chronicle], but it is Celtic who must go in for him this time.

The 20-year-old is an exciting player who is likely to get the club faithful on their seats if he joined. He is direct as he is energetic, and he is someone who is always wanting to make that killer pass. Sounds good already, right?

Celtic would complete a huge masterstroke by bringing the young dazzler to Parkhead this summer, as they will be lacking in attacking talent once Burke and Weah leave. Doan may be young, but the potential he has is massive – he has already made 11 appearances for his country.

The Hoops are in need of serious reinforcements to make next season run a lot smoother, and Doan is just the player to kickstart that. Peter Lawwell – take note.

Either way, the Celtic fans would drool if the club pulled off this swoop.
