Basic questions you must ask yourself before getting in to volunteering.

Are you better behind the scenes or do you prefer to take a more visible role?

How much time you are willing to commit?

How much responsibility are you ready to take on? What skills can you bring a volunteering job?

What causes are important to you?

Where do you find volunteering opportunities?

Community theatres, monuments curators role, museums etc.

Libraries or senior citizens centres.

Service providing organizations like Lions club, Rotary clubs, Red Cross society etc.

Local animal shelters, rescue organization or wild life centres.

Youth organizations, sports teams and after school programs.

Historical restorations working sites or work, national parks, shelter for stray animal, and other conservation organizations.

Places of religious importance like churches, temples or gurudwaras or synagogues.

Online data bases such as those contained in resourcefull sections who work for the betterment of the society.

In women’s health organization, old age homes, blind schools, in jails with some physical activity or some handicraft program, in life threatening disease care centres in educating slum or roadside children, in mental asylums and also in rehabilitation centres for physically challenged or mentally retarded people,rehab centres for drug and alcohol abusers, etc.
